As daylight stretches longer and the weather is turning warmer, cyclists everywhere are anticipating the season ahead.  It is invigorating knowing it is spring and the entire cycling season is in front of you.

All bikers know that surprise showers can play havoc with their biking plans during the spring months.  They also know that the summers aren’t totally dry, so having a lightweight, breathable, rainproof jacket always comes in handy.  The waterproof cycling jacket is multi functional shielding you from precipitation and protecting you from the elements at large.

When choosing a cycling jacket you should consider what level of waterproofing and breathability you want.  Hopefully you’ll have the jacket stuffed in your jersey pocket most of the time, so another feature you will want to consider is packability.  Opt for something that is lightweight and packs down small for stowage.  Many cycling jackets come in bright colors that make you visible to motorists, which is also a plus.

Cyclists ride during all kinds of weather, especially if they are training regularly or the bike is their primary form of transportation.  For cooler days, a cycling jacket with arm warmers or a long sleeve cycling jersey will keep you warm against the brisk air while still keeping you dry by wicking the perspiration away from the surface of your skin.  Weather proof  jackets  or shells are also available for wind and rain protection.  Adding cycling pants or leg warmers, to keep your knees and legs warm and flexible, will add to the comfort and enjoyment of your ride even when the weather is less than ideal.  By layering your cycling clothing you have the ability to remove the layers as the temperature rises keeping you comfortable throughout the ride.  Many of the jackets, leg and arm warmers will easily fit into your jerseys rear pockets.
